Snowball of Negativity Spell

This was a spontaneous spell that I conducted earlier this week while outside.  This came to me while I was outside, taking the garbage out; lately, I had been feeling very negative, and had realized that my reactions to very near everything were negative, as well.  I wanted to change this; so when I went outside, I had been thinking about what it was that had been causing the negativity, and came up with a simple answer: me.  The way I had been looking at things was not positive or conducive to a positive way of living.  The only way to change it was to change the way I thought about my given situation.  I wanted to banish all negativity, and I ended up using nature (snow!) to do that.

Pick up a handful of snow and ball it up, thinking about all the negativity that you want to banish.  Infuse the snowball with that energy; add more snow to add on more negative things that come to you during this process.  Close your eyes and hold the snowball in your hand, visualizing a life without negativity.

As I throw this snowball, so too do I throw away all negative energy and thoughts.

Throw the snowball as hard as you can, gaining as much distance from you as possible.

As this snowball melts under the warm sun, so too does the negativity dissipate.

Take a moment to reflect on the root of your negativity; if you are causing it, why?  What can you do to reverse this?  You may wish to declutter, move furniture around your home, donate unused items, or otherwise shift or cleanse your home, car, and other places that you frequent. Do not allow negativity to take root; as soon as negative energy presents itself, show it the door, so to speak.  Affirmations are a great way to keep up with positive energy and to boost self-esteem, as well.

Esbat & Sabbat Cookie Recipe

For the cakes and ale portion of any ritual, there should be something to eat and drink to not only replenish your body's store of energy, but also to aid in grounding and centering.  Following is a basic sugar cookie recipe that can be used for any ritual, provided by CharmingPixieFlora on youtube.  Cookie cutters are ideal to cut out appropriate themed shapes, though a simple round shape is always appropriate (and can be done with the aid of a floured glass or cup).

Remember to properly clean the area that you plan to cook, to infuse the food with your intentions as you mix, and to time the preparation and cooking to the appropriate moon phase.

Ingredients

1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Preparation

Cream the shortening, butter, and sugar.  Add in the remaining ingredients, and mix.  Roll dough out to the desired thickness on a floured surface.  Cut the dough into shapes with floured cookie cutters.

Bake at 350ยบ F for 8 to 9 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Remove from sheet and transfer to racks or paper towels to cool.
Makes about 1 dozen very large cookies, or 2 dozen smaller sized cookies.
